Well, we went for the chop yesterday- well half way anyway. Couldnt bring myself to go really short but she took a lot off and his fur looks more poodly now on his back. Does that mean he has a wool coat???

The dog sitter said she would only take him in the summer if had him cut short because she wouldnt have the time to groom him-fair enough I suppose. I have noticed he is very hot in this milder weather.

Here he is....

oops wrong way round

What collars do you on your dogs? I still use the nylon thinnish type on Toby and Bertie as when I bought a padded one, Toby didn't like it on at all. In fact both of mine have puppy collars still!

I also wondered whether you take them off at night or in the house? Lately I haven't been but I've read that you should as they might catch and hurt themselves. I haven't because my two love been outside and are always playing in the garden. My fence that I'm responsible for was replaced last year ...

I have heard in the past where the Retriever can have a very sudden 'turn' and act totally out of character with damaging consequences, but I always dismissed it as they always seem to be so soft and gentle. However a fellow Parish Councillor of mine has experienced an horrific attack in the past few days which opened my eyes.

She was stroking her much loved pet of 6 years (Golden Retriever) when he suddenly turned and bit her wrist. The attack was over within seconds, but left her wrist ...

Took Miley to her first puppy class last night and what an experience that was!

Started off with her pulling me around the room to go after the other dogs (there were 6 of them altogether). Then we had to let them off their leads to play together. Miley went straight for a springer spaniel who was 5 months old and about the same size as her. She had her pinned down by the neck but apparently that's fine! Then we had to recall our puppies one at a time so guess who had to go first!!! Would she ...

Our two little nippers have had their hair cut today. A little trip to the Groomers and several hours later......

Here is Purdey looking just sweet and pretty!

and here is the lovely Skye, but I will have to persevere in getting a pictue of her looking at the camera.

She had her nose to the ground and I was freezing!!

Everytime she looked up at me she came to lick the camera lens!!

I will try and get her to look up tomorrow and catch her unawares!!

They are 7 and 7.5 months now.

xx

Poor Scruffy had a really bad reaction after her spay and think Julie and Rai would agree that seem to upset her whole balance of things, one of these her diet, she had gotton over weight due to op, very prone to urine infections, big bulky poos and was alway scavenging. We went through quite a hefty list of dog foods and after the great advice on here from Kerry started her on Orijen as a last attempt before the vet put her on a very expensive veterinary diet.

Like all changes to their food ...

I took Toby for his booster yesterday. All started well and he sat in the car, seatbelt on, watching the road, swaying gently as car turned corners. We got to the entrance to the vets which is at a farm and for the first time he looked at me, looked ahead, looked at me and started to fidget - I think he knew.

Parking up we got out and a curious noise could be heard, a sort of strangled cat howl crossed with a moan. He slunk across the car park almost on his belly, jumped over the wall and ...

Hi everyone my name's Gaynor and I've just joined this forum because I'm the proud owner of an 11 week old 50/50 miniature labradoodle that I collected from Raisdoodles on the 6th of Feb.

I'm married with 3 children and live in a village just south of Norwich in the Norfolk countryside. My girls named her Miley after Miley Cyrus from Hannah Montana! Miley has been so easy to train with regards to toileting and I've trained her to sit this morning. We're having trouble with the lead though ...

Hi ladies, if you'd like a little relaxation, amusement and a feelgood movie, take a look at Leap Year with Amy Adams and Matthew Goode. It is good, funny does make you feel good. I had a really good time watching it. (Cheered me up after spending a two hour round trip in the car, watching my son and his friends play football in the freezing wet mudbath they called the pitch whilst it snowed and rained and the wind blew...)

I've been watching and reading all of this with interest. This morning I took my dogs out for a short stroll and met two dog owners, they each had two dogs with them. One with two boxers and one with two collies. NONE of the dogs were on a lead. My two were at a disadvantage as they were on a lead if anything had happened.

I just wish they would be some sort of legislation whereby where there are houses or built up areas dogs should be kept on a lead. I'm always a bit worried in these situations. ...

Hello! I've just discovered this forum via the labradoodle association.

I've got a 9 month old labradoodle called Murphy. He is an F1B, but is quite short haired and is more labrador than poodle - there's always one isn't there!!! He is absolutely gorgeous and we all love him to bits, even when he's things he shouldn't be, which he does regularly!

I already have a pedometer, so I thought I would give it wirl as I put on a few pounds over Christmas which I haven't been able to shift. Three days in and I've lost 3lbs! Its amazing how many steps you do just pottering about the house and garden and walking to the school bus, but if I need to do extra, I jump on my treadmill for half an hour and that bumps it up alot. I hate running with a passion, ...

To be honest we were sort of expecting it as he wasn't too good last year after his booster. Oddly enought there was an article in a paper today, I've put the link below, about giving our dogs injections when they don't need them.

I think we are all very clued up about our kids and injections but I certainly wasn't about dogs. I did think about it but thought it was for the best. Now I'm ...

I was extremely suspicious and walked him up and down but not a squat or tentative cock of the leg. Hmmm -I took him in and off they went to bed. He was so quiet.

I walked out of the kitchen and peeped back in to see what he was up to ... and found him eating a nectarine...
