Do you Clip your doodles
I have seen some doods with great hair clips, but some groomers seem to do there own thing not what you ask. In the past my experiences with groomers............ they always take the coat to short.
also they always shave not scissor clip even when you ask, would be nice to see how your groomers have performed, do you have the coat clipped every 6 wks like a poodle?

Still trying to get Scooby right, after his last clip he looks like a poodle. I wanted to say, if I wanted my dog to look like a poodle I wouldn't have taken out a second mortage to buy and ASD but I refrained!

Re: Do you Clip your doodles
Hi all, What isn't being shed of Toby's coat is long and his beard and topknot? is really long. As I don't want him to resemble a hairy thing, I was wondering whether just to get his face clipped or do it myself-eek.
What do you all think?

Hi, I thought I had got my grooming all sorted, but they never do what you ask them to,it is so annoying as Rach said if you ask for a scissor clip thats what you expect. My English Doods,I cut the beards myself and bath them and then condition with Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner,If Toby's topknot is too long you could just trim lightly, and he will still look very handsome.
Re: Do you Clip your doodles
Thanks for that advice Julie, he's a bit smelly at the moment so a bath is in order at the weekend. Where do you get the Aussie conditioner from? I'll get some and try it. Is it the same range as sold in Boots etc? I think I'll trim his beard and topknot too as the curls are in his eyes.

Re: Do you Clip your doodles
Scruff is always clipped - much easier for such a large F1, but Stan the ASD has been scissored and clipped. In Feb I had him scissored (first time at having the chop!) and then in I think it was early May I had him clipped. It was when we had the first lot of heat - maybe it was end of April. Gotta admit he looks like a girl when he has been clipped and I don't like it BUT being such a curly coat, it must be much nicer for him when it's warm and it does grow really fast so within 2 weeks it has grown a touch and looks better (a bit more manly haha!)
