What about a baby play pen? They fold flat, have plastic wipe clean base and wooden slatted sides. Probably not rain proof though!

I used this one .....

My dogs live in our lounge, so I though the plastic one was more in keeping with that rather than a metal one. It was also easy to clean. Poppy didn't chew it, and although Daisy could have jumped in if she chose, she didn't - in fact it turned out to me needed to give Daisy a rest from Poppy rather than to keep Poppy safe from Daisy!

It opens up so you can use it as a room divider, or comes apart. Since Poppy stopped using it I have used sections of it to block passages in the garden, I have used it to protect shrubs that were taking a battering, and I am currently using it to keep the dogs away from a fence whilst I am painting it ... very versatile Laughing

The childs playpen could be ok except I think puppies might chew it, but good for really young ones though.I like the one you have Bid that is excactly what I am looking for, is it stong and would it with stand a bit of chewing?

I have used this baby play pen for Maddie, we got it when she was 8 weeks and use it instead of a crate as she never seemed to settle in the crate. It's quite pricey but has metal bars that she has chewed at frequently and has never managed to make a mark. It has a door (baby gate style) and can also be extended into a room divider. We have it pulled into the shape of a long rectangle instead of the hexagon as it fits better against the wall.

Happy shopping!

These are really good suggestions - I had a play plen a bit like the one Jennie found for the children and we used it to divide our kitchen from the living area which was very useful when Edward was tiny and had a habit of toddling off to the fridge for a bit of fun. We now have a Crufts Freedom Play pen - not for the children, but for the puppies and their Mum. It's very sturdy and has a handy two part gate that you can completely shut to keep a bigger dog in, or have a little mini gate just to keep the pups in, but one Mum can hop over easily to escape if she wants to. It's incredibly useful, but not very portable.
